Apparently Rhys’ car is pushing 400+ whp.  Nice.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe Convertible

Sounds nice?  Too bad, cause Hyundai isn’t chopping the top.  From Edmunds,

“It’s never been in the plan,” Johnson said. “There was some internal discussion early on, but since we unveiled the coupe in New York, there’s been no talk.”

Although IL sources say the project was originally on Hyundai’s future product calendar, Johnson is adamant that a Genesis convertible was never part of an official plan.

“The coupe wasn’t developed to be a convertible from the ground up,” he said. “It was developed as a global car. The wind in your hair doesn’t work in Korea, and there’s not enough volume in the U.S.”

Edmunds Reviews the Genesis Coupe in South Korea

Edmunds Inside Line likes it, calling it ‘World Class Rear Wheel Drive’

It’s 5 a.m. in South Korea and we slip downstairs in the dark from our motel room in Uljin to the underground parking garage. We point the key fob into the blackness and a car’s soft interior lighting illuminates a sumptuous leather cabin. Headlights cast a glow, highlighting aggressive character lines that cut across purposeful bodywork.

We’re drooling over a Hyundai, for heaven’s sake. It’s the 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. We load the gear into the surprisingly accommodating trunk, slip into the chilly cockpit and press the starter button. We’re looking forward to this. Really looking forward to it.

Don’t Like Your Hyundai? Just Return It…

…If you’ve lost your job, that is.

NEW YORK – Can’t make the payments on that new car you just bought? No problem — just return it free of charge.

At least that’s the deal being offered by Hyundai Motor America. In a bid to woo skittish consumers, the South Korea-based automaker will cover the depreciation on any returned leased or financed vehicle for the first 12 months to those who find themselves unable to make their car payments.

Does this apply to the Gen Coupe, a car that hasn’t even been released yet?
